ASSIGNMENT: Introductory post series

Context: Last week I started the process of revamping the MCNW LinkedIn account. To continue adding to our post catalogue, I drafted a statistic-based post about small businesses. Still working to establish our presence on the channel, so keeping posts more generalized.

Process:

• Look through website, one-pager reports to find data that is relevant to audience

• Find photo of client in shared drive

• Find Canva template that uses photo + has room for text

• Reformat Canva template for LinkedIn (1200px by 628px to avoid cropping/compression)

• Write copy that expands on stat and segues into advertising website/training

• Proof + post

In technical terms, “microenterprises” are companies with 5 or fewer employees. In real terms, they are the food trucks, beauty salons, and mom-and-pop shops that make our neighborhoods vibrant. As small businesses, they face a unique set of challenges are often denied access to conventional lending due to a lack of history, credit, or collateral. ASSIGNMENT: Promote open position

Context: During a staff meeting, the director of the Lifelong Information for Entrepreneurs (LIFE) director mentioned that they are seeking applicants for part-time instructors. LIFE is a prison reentry program that aims to reduce recidivism through career support and guidance.

Process:

• Obtain link to job posting

• Write brief copy

• Proof + post
